POLK COUNTY (Bay News 9) -- An early morning fire that destroyed several mobile homes in Winter Haven may have been set by an arsonist.

The fire started shortly before 5:30 a.m. at an empty home in Lakefront Mobile Home Park, which is in the 2500 block of U.S. 92.

About 20 people were affected by the fire, which burned four mobile homes and a triplex. The Red Cross is assisting the victims.

The park owner said he'll move the displaced residents into different mobile homes.

No injuries were reported, but a dog was treated by an animal hospital.

The state fire marshal's office is offering a reward in the case, and anyone with information is asked to call detective Miles Davis at 863-679-4180.
